ABOUT THE CLEVELAND AREA
On the shores of Lake Erie, Cleveland, Ohio is a bustling city known for its hard-working populace and fun activities. The birthplace of jazz greats Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday, Cleveland is the first place in America to use the term rock and roll and is the proud home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cleveland is served by three airports: the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, the Akron-Canton Airport, and the Akron-Fulton International Airport. Cleveland historically has had a manufacturing-based economy but has diversified in recent years. Healthcare and technology now play a larger role, and the city is home to the headquarters of Forest City Enterprises, KeyCorp, Sherwin-Williams, Applied Industrial Technologies, and NACCO Industries. The Cleveland Clinic, the largest private employer in the state, employs over 50,000 people.

Fashion Week Cleveland, held throughout the first week of May, is the third-largest fashion week in the nation. June sees the Tri-C Jazz Fest and the Great Lakes Burning River Fest, a celebration of music, beer, and community along the Cleveland Waterfront.
The Cleveland sports scene is dominated by three major league professional teams: the Cleveland Indians of the MLB, the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA and the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. When not cheering for these three teams, Cleveland fans can enjoy NCAA college sports with the Case Western Spartans and the Cleveland State Vikings.
