The fastest-growing city in South Carolina, Greenville is named after Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Green. Shoppers will find all manner of treasures at Haywood Mall, while history buffs can dig into the past at the Museum & Library of Confederate History. Collegiate teams dominate the sports scene at Greenville. The Furman Paladins compete in the NCAA Division I football league and play at Paladin Stadium. Bob Jones University fields the Bruins, who compete in men’s and women’s soccer and bac]sketball, while the North Greenville University athletics department fields soccer, volleyball, and baseball teams. Greenville has four distinct seasons, with short, cool winters and hot, humid summers. The city receives approximately 47 inches of precipitation a year, about four inches of which comes from snowfall. Average July temperatures hover around 80 Fahrenheit, while winters see about 59 nights where the temperature drops below freezing. Ice storms and sleet can occur in the winter and early spring.
We understand that not every visit to Greenville is for pleasure or business. Greenville boasts some excellent medical facilities, including the Greenville Memorial Hospital and Hillcrest Memorial Hospital. The University of Southern Carolina School of Medicine also calls Greenville home.
